The charming and historic town of Golegã is often known as Portugal’s Capital of the Horse.
Golegã is situated between the rivers Tagus and Almonda in Portugal’s Ribatejo Province. This region is one of country’s most fertile areas, dedicated to growing vegetables and corn and rearing livestock, largely cattle. It is also the home to many of the oldest and most prestigious breeders of Lusitanos horses. Here you can taste the famous Portuguese cuisine, known for its wealth of seafood, spices and olive oil. Portuguese cuisine relies heavily on the Atlantic Ocean and the produce grown throughout the country.
After your race, an amazing pasta party with amazing food, is waiting for you. The swim swim is quite unique taking place in a dam and the bike and run course has a little bit of everything including flat sections, bridges, single tracks in Eucalyptus and Cork forests and lots of climbing and downhills to satisfy everyone.
