A week of Cross Triathlon training on the beautiful Island of Lanzarote
Race Off Road invites you to escape with us to the sunny island of Lanzarote. Whilst it is a well-known location for road triathletes and cyclists, the off road potential of the island is often overlooked. We’ve spent months scouting the island for the best trails that offer the perfect physical and technical challenge for Cross triathletes. These trails are right on the doorstep from our base at the Occidental Mar Hotel in Costa Teguise (which happens to have a 50m pool onsite). The week will consist of a mix of structured sessions designed to give you an excellent boost of winter fitness (and some Vit D!)
This will be a varied week to include coaching across swimming, mountain biking and trail running, with some old fashioned hard work thrown in for good measure. The week is aimed at intermediate to advanced level cross triathletes with a good level of fitness. Experienced road triathletes with some mountain bike experience are also welcome. Prices are inclusive of airport transfers, accommodation, half board meals (breakfast and evening meal), facilities, coaching.
Prices do not include your flights, drinks, lunch and snacks, wellness centre treatments, bike hire/repair, any additional excursions outside of the camp schedule.

Swim: The week includes coached swimming sessions and individual feedback on your technique.
Mountain bike: The terrain in Lanzarote is loose and rocky. Rides will be varied in length with a focus on building aerobic capacity and technical skills. There will be plenty of time for hard work, but also time to enjoy a café stop or two 😊
Trail running: There will be a mixture of run sessions to include social runs, long runs and interval sessions.
Other: The week will include recovery sessions focusing on exercises to prevent common injuries, core strength, muscle relaxation and stretching.

The Occidental Lanzarote Mar is a fantastic Lanzarote sports hotel thanks to its peaceful and idyllic setting in Costa Teguise, one of the most exclusive areas in Lanzarote.

Lanzarote Stage Race
For anyone wanting to double up, the Lanzarote Mountain Bike Stage Race is the 25th to the 28th of January from club La Santa. This is a 4 day, 4 stage MTB bike race through the lava fields and tracks of the island, with stage distances varying from 42km to 81km. The course is not overly technical but is one heck of a challenge. Bringing your bike vs Hiring
We would recommend that you bring your own MTB, however if you wish to hire a bike you must arrange this yourself prior to the camp. We would recommend that you use The Bike Station in Costa Teguise.
Please ensure that your bike is serviced and in full working condition prior to the camp. You will not be able to join the group rides if your bike is deemed unfit for purpose. Although there are well stocked bike shops on the Island it may be difficult to get specific parts for your MTB. Along with riding spares (innertube, pump, allen keys etc.) we also recommend bringing a spare rear mech hanger for your bike in case it is damaged during travel.
